aboutOur Staff
Ewan Kennedy: Senior Pastor
Ewan was born and raised in Scotland, and worked in construction design and management before moving to the United States and becoming a pastor. Having grown up in a post-Christian country with a personally mixed relationship to the church, Ewan has a lot of sympathy for those who are skeptical of or have been burned by the church and organized religion. He began his ministry career as a pastoral counselor in a church plant and continues to be passionate about those areas and ministry dynamics. He will do almost anything for an espresso and chocolate.
Ewan and his wife Heather came to Church of the Redeemer in January 2008. They have three sons: Calvin (11), Cooper (7) and Cannon (5).
Adam Young: Director of Church Life
Adam grew up in Connecticut and worked in New York trading stocks in the financial markets before he moved to Atlanta in 2000. Adam is interested in transforming hearts, reconciling relationships, and pointing out people’s glory. He enjoys non-fiction (and carefully vetted works of fiction) and hearing Glen Phillips wherever he's playing in Atlanta, especially at Eddie's Attic. For rest, Adam enjoys windsurfing, playing guitar, and talking with his daughter.
Adam and his wife Caroline have a new baby girl, Hope.
Jason Giger: Worship and Arts Director
Before coming on staff at Redeemer, Jason taught and performed classical guitar for 10 years. Jason considers playing music and talking daily about Truth, Beauty, and God to be his dream job (even if all his music, art, and philosophy college friends find it shocking and ironic that he is now on staff at a church). In addition to being Redeemer’s Worship Director, Jason is also the founder and director of our Muéo Arts ministry. Although since childhood, Jason has always wanted to be an “old man” like his grandpa, he has sworn to never grow up and become a cynical and serious-minded adult. That explains why Jason enjoys collecting fine tobacco pipes and secretly wishes he could work as a candy taster and developer for Willy Wonka.
Jason and his newly-wed wife, Amanda, live in Decatur.
Marla Randolph: Executive Assistant to the Pastor / Ministry Administrator
Although Marla grew up in Dalton, GA she has lived up and down the East Coast, from Massachusetts to Orlando, working as a high school teacher, a church staff member (Women’s Ministry), and pioneering an internship program for a college. Amongst Marla’s interests is a deep passion for mercy ministry. Some of her earliest memories include seeing her parents and grandmother care for people in need. She enjoys reading, entertaining, cooking, eating ice cream, watching movies, playing word games (especially Scrabble) and playing with fireworks.
Marla and her husband Steve have two adult children, Katie and John.
Heather Kennedy: Children’s Ministry Director
Heather grew up in Nashville and Switzerland and has worked with children all across the USA: Virginia, Illinois, and Utah as a teacher (K-6th and High School) and church nursery coordinator. Heather has served in children’s ministry at three other churches and also directed a children’s worship program. She enjoys rooting for the St. Louis Cardinals as she has been a lifelong fan.
Heather is married to Pastor Ewan and they have three sons: Calvin (11), Cooper (7) and Cannon (5).

Uh…right. Just one problem. We’re not.
What we ARE is a community of people looking for Jesus together. We are committed to worshiping God, loving each other well, serving and beautifying the city (primarily through commitments to mercy and to the arts) and communicating the liberating Gospel of God in Jesus....
