According to God, there is an appropriate, proper, and even necessary time for his people to dance! Tomorrow night is that time for Church of the Redeemer.
Today and tomorrow take some time to reflect and remember God’s work in and around you and especially in and through your church family. Be specific. Has he helped you, met you in his Word/worship, grown you, sustained you, blessed you? Name those things. Write them down. Even if it’s been a tough week, month, or year, we can still thank God for the grace he has shown us and the breath he has gifted to us.
Psalm 87 is the perfect Psalm for us today and tomorrow. It’s a Psalm of praise to God for his people and specifically the blessing of the church. Even if you are not a “singer” or “dancer” (not all of us are – see v 7), we all are invited and exhorted to take time to reflect and enter into deliberate praise and sacrificial celebration for his work in and through the Bride of Christ.
So take some time today and tomorrow to give special thanks to God – even if you can’t be with us tomorrow night at our All Church Party. If you can join us, come to celebrate with your family! This is a special party of celebration and thanksgiving for God’s work in and through us – and in and through Church of the Redeemer. So come ready to praise God, feast, smile, and hug your brothers and sisters in Christ. Tomorrow night, may our greeting and the phrase on our lips be, “God has been good to us!”
Yours in Christ,
